We often learn to walk by faith and not by sight. If you have been in the Christian circle for any amount of time. you may have heard this phrase before. We should trust and believe that God is more than able to move the various mountains in our lives, if only we trust that he is able rather than doubting that reality.

However, I know that many of us do struggle with trusting God in various areas of our lives. We believe he is supreme and is Lord over the universe, but we leave him there.

Then, when the tough struggles come forth in our lives, we don’t know how to navigate them best. We try to fix things in our limited strength and capacity.

I have often hit that ceiling. I have believed for the most part, but somehow fall short every now and again when bigger mountains appear. I’m like a yo-yo with God. Can you relate?

How do we, therefore, walk with him totally and completely by faith? Trusting that he is far more than just above us, watching over us, and not interested in our everyday struggles.

I will put this faith walk into perspective for you, and hopefully it will help you to break that ceiling as well that you too may have kept God in.

Are you struggling in your faith walk lately? Do you have God as just being elsewhere and not also involved with your day to day struggles. Please feel free to add to my list or ask your questions or concerns below. I would be happy to help you!

“Living a life of faith requires me to actively participate with God in a mutual relationship that requires me to be more child-like in my walk with him.”

God Is Present With Us

God is not just elsewhere doing his thing while we’re here struggling to make it through to the other side. He is present with us. He created us from the very beginning of time to have a relationship with us.

Too many of us, however, don’t truly believe that he is who he is and is more than able to help us to navigate this life we call ours.

He is more than capable, able and very ready to help us. Many of us, for some reason or another, discredit his help. We feel like the problems we have are too small for him and that we don’t need to bother him with the small stuff.

God, however, doesn’t have a bracket as to what qualifies for help. He is open to everything that we bring to him. We just have to be more open to fully allowing him in more often than ever before.

He does care about the job offering we are waiting desperately for, or the financial deficit we find ourselves in. He sees them, and he knows they are there.

However, we are sometimes afraid to seek his help with anything. We have become hyper-independent. We want to do things our way for the most part.

However, you and I know that when we use our own understanding to do things, sometimes it doesn’t work out the way we intended for it to work out.

Then we often times get mad at God too for not protecting us from our own choices. Does that sound familiar to you? It does to me. I am very aware of them.

The way to overcome this struggle that we do have is to give God the things that we tend to be afraid to ask him for help with. Then allow him to do what he does best.

It’s that simple. No overthinking, no complications, nothing. Just a simple ask.

Ask, Seek, and Knock

I want to challenge you to ask about something that may have been a problem, question, or challenge you have had for some time or even years. Then wait in anticipation for the outcome of that particular situation.

For example, you are looking for a new job, and aren’t sure where to apply. Ask the Lord to show you the right way to go with that. It’s that simple. Then observe as time passes by what comes to light. God has a way of shifting things around in order to get you on the right path with the right answer.

If a particular company pops up or comes to mind, it’s a right step in the right direction. If that opportunity happens for you, then you have trusted God to help you navigate something you were struggling with.

Now what happens when, for instance, that job you applied for closed or fell through? This gets me to my next point.

Trust The Closed Doors

Faith also means trusting the doors that closed for us. It will never always be a win-win situation because behind some doors are experiences you don’t want to meet. That door could have been a toxic work environment.

Or sometimes God wants us to go in another direction. It really signifies to me that there is something that needs to be addressed or is of concern behind that door.

Feel free to always ask God for clarity on anything that happens.

Many of us sometimes get frustrated or angry with God for something that didn’t go the way we expected, instead of seeing it as divine protection from something we don’t want to get involved with.

So trusting the open doors and even more the closed ones is very important in your walk of faith. It will help you to navigate the journey well ahead of you.

Remove The Ceiling

As you continue to walk out a life of faith with God, the journey will ask you to step out with greater confidence than before. The ceiling that you once had at whatever phase of your journey you find yourself in will require some more stretching.

For example, You’re asking God to help you to get out of debt. Maybe it’s to pay off the mortgage, car debt, student loans, or whatever it is you’re asking of Him; that’s a bigger ask than your normal.

You can’t approach him with a cap that’s blocking his ability to help you with that bigger ask. You have to believe that he is even more than capable of helping you accomplish even the bigger goals that you have.

Yes, to the world it’s maybe 30 years to pay off that debt, but to God it’s as simple as asking for his divine favor in getting that debt paid down even quicker than what the world says.

Because with God, absolutely nothing is impossible for him. Does he want us to be prosperous and in good health overall? Absolutely! What vessels to showcase his glory on this earth would we be if we are struggling with worldly debt? There is no true witness with Christina’s who are struggling in the world.

We want the world to see that we are true followers of Christ and what he’s able to do with us as his children is nothing short of a life filled with miracles.

So remove your limitations and ask God for bigger goals, and watch how he navigates that with you.

A Walk Of Faith Is Freedom

There is freedom in total surrender to God. It doesn’t mean that we will not have mountains to climb and valleys to walk through.

It means that life will be easier if we don’t try to navigate them on our own but trust the master planner to navigate it with us. The feeling of freedom that comes with that decision is by far the best thing that you can do on your walk of faith.

I describe this as being like a child hanging on to their parents for dear life as they walk with them. That’s how we also should be with God. We walk in alignment with him each day on our journey and are not afraid to ask him to help us navigate this life well.

It’s what we should do, and when we do, we will see so much more freedom coming towards us than ever before.

Try this one simple shift in your walk and let me know what happens.

I hope that these 5 tips will help you to better understand how to walk freely in a life of faith and trusting that God is more than able to help us navigate it well.
