I am Donae! A wife and mom of two kids, ALL boys! I would love to share with you my experience with motherhood. Let my life inspire, encourage and motivate you on your journey through motherhood.

Have you ever heard of the saying "boundaries up"? Have you ever heard of the saying "boundaries up"? I have heard it so many times but in all honesty, it's true. We have to be aware of our own well-being at all times to be able to be more effective in interacting with others. You can't give from an empty or drained cup. You have to keep pouring into your own well-being then when you're full, you can easily pour into others. That's why when you're drained especially as a mom learn to say no more often than yes. It is needed for your sanity.

Self-care is essential for moms. We do need to con Self-care is essential for moms. We do need to constantly check in on our mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Do not neglect this basic principle. Otherwise, you will constantly be battling in a state of burnout and frustration. When you reach that state, you are of no help to the family you're called to nurture. So don't ever feel guilty about wanting to pour into your cup first before pouring into the lives of others. A healthy version of yourself is needed.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with creating he There is absolutely nothing wrong with creating healthy boundaries in your life. I used to think that you have to put up with anything for the most part because it's the right thing or "Christian" thing to do. But I'm learning each day that it's rather not the case. Your ability to function at best is always going to triumph. If that means that you must guard your heart when positioned in toxic environments carefully, then that's what it will have to take to ensure your thriving at the end of it all. So be proactive about this and guard your heart at all costs. It's worth it!

We had a great time at Christmas games night with We had a great time at Christmas games night with family and friends! Thanks to @tryazon and @monopolygameofficial for gifting us Monopoly Knockout to try! This game is really a lot of fun. You get to play in rounds, taking turns sliding tokens and trying to land them on properties. At the end of each round, you’ll collect or pay cash based on where your tokens end up. It’s not only for grownups but also 8 years and older can play. It’s now a great addition to our games night collection for years to come! 🥰 #tryazon #monopolyknockout #monopoly #hasbrogaming #ad
Sometimes, I will often hit a wall in my "busyness Sometimes, I will often hit a wall in my "busyness" syndrome and then realize that I am going too fast and doing too much in such a short time. When that happens, I have to take a step back and analyze my life, and my schedule and start to really prioritize the more important things, while removing the not-so-important things that can actually drain me, instead of helping me to create the balance that I desire for my peace and sanity for the long haul.

Have you been to that point yourself? If you have, then you will also know that it's probably time to slow down and to strip your schedule of things that no longer need to be there. Being overwhelmed with life and balance does not have to be the case. Slowing down is much more productive for your life and well-being long term.

RECAP: I’m officially 40! Don’t know what to do at RECAP: I’m officially 40! Don’t know what to do at this age if you ask me. Should I run, jump or just relax for the rest of the journey of life. 🥰I’m however honestly grateful for the life and the family that I get to enjoy it with.So instead of the usual getting people to plan my party, I decided to do the opposite. I planned my own party and invited my family to enjoy it (except for a few dishes made by my sister and mom…shhh). But nonetheless I just love to decorate and I could not pass on this opportunity, especially for my 40th (hubby tried to get me to not plan it lol).So here’s some tips on how to plan a chic 40th birthday dinner at home especially if saving, like me for a birthday cruise later on. 🙌🏾Click on the blog link in the bio. 👇🏾#40thbirthday #40thbirthdayparty #partyplanning #partyideas #40thbirthdayideas #40thbirthdaydecor #adultbirthdayparties #womenbirthday #adultpartyideas
I get it. Life can be very difficult at times, esp I get it. Life can be very difficult at times, especially as moms trying to juggle a million things all at once. Life however does not mean that being overwhelmed and being overworked is a good thing. At least not at the sacrifice of your mental health and well-being.

So do what it takes to set healthier boundaries and live in a more balanced life, where your mental health does not have to take the back seat. You will need to be your best mentally to be the best for your family in the long run.
