We all have a life that we yearn for deeply. If I were to ask you if money was never an issue whatsoever, what would your life look like? I can promise you that you wouldn’t hesitate to tell me your best answers.
Do you know why? It’s because you do have goals, dreams, and aspirations for yourself that are hidden within you.
You do want to achieve major things in life, and you are aware of them. I can see right now that while reading this, some things will probably come to the surface. If you haven’t started exploring those desires as yet, then the next question is, why not?
I know that many of you will say that life happened right! Life happens for all of us, whether we want to accept it or not. It could be a busy season of motherhood for some, or just work taking up much of our time, or anything that’s fighting for our attention at the moment.
Whatever that is, I just want you to realize that you will never achieve your best life if you keep using obstacles to getting there as the reason why you stopped dreaming.
I’m going to be the “strict parent” in the room, if you allow me to be that for you. Now I won’t baby you into achieving your dreams. I will tell you hard truths.
You settled for less than the best of so many different things that we face in life. I will break down a few of them that I know women struggle with all the time.
Let me enlighten you about your own journey, and if any of these examples feed your soul and convict your heart, then I’m hoping that my message will help you to crawl out of that hole that you put yourself in and to start dreaming again.
Let’s start a new chapter about redefining what it is to live your best life.
Have you stopped dreaming about major changes in your life? Have you hidden your goals, dreams, and aspirations within yourself? Please feel free to add to my list, or ask your questions or concerns below. I would be happy to help you!
“The only way to get to the best version of myself is to also pursue the life that gives me that option as well. I don’t have to settle for a mediocre life. I can thrive to achieve greater things in life if only I would allow my dreams to evolve through time. They were planted there for a reason. We just need to be hungry enough to seek it out.”
Fear
To me, this is the biggest obstacle that many of us hide behind. I know fear too well. Even now, I’m fearing what I’m even writing to you. Fear loves to raise its ugly head in our lives more than we like to think.
We, however, allow it to shape the lives we have rather than going after the life we want. Be honest with yourself for a moment. Is fear lurking around in your life?
Is the first reason why you don’t achieve those hidden desires centered around the fear of something? I fear writing that book because I don’t want anybody to think about my life. I fear starting that business because of failure. I fear relocating to a new place because of job stability.
The list goes on and on, if you allow it to continue. Before you know it you built a life full of fear instead of the very best life that you could have given yourself.
Now I know you want answers on how to overcome fear and to step into the newness of life. Here’s the truth! Fear isn’t going anywhere. We are humans living in a fearful world. Everything around us screams fear. The only way to overcome this enemy to our destiny is to work against it instead of with it.
What do I mean by that? You are fearful of doing something, but do it anyway. Do it afraid. Do it regardless of what your mind is screaming at you. Do it because not doing it is settling for a fearful life, rather than your best life.
That would mean writing that book regardless of whose reading it, starting that business amidst the thought of failure, and moving to that city, regardless of the “what ifs” that scared you from doing it in the first place.
Just do it! Just take baby steps towards your dreams. I promise you that the more you go in that direction, the more you will see life evolve around you until you have achieved your best life.
Indecisiveness
This is another blockage that many of us as women have as well. We don’t know how to make solid decisions and not second-guess ourselves out of it.
Indecisiveness cripples our goals and dreams that we have for ourselves. When we can’t make sound decisions to do something, we end up not doing anything at all. We remain stuck in everything.
When you’re stuck and can’t seem to get ahead because of a stall in indecision, that’s the call to assess why the indecisiveness came up in the first place.
You may have decided to start writing that book, but then you found many other issues coming to the surface. Maybe it’s whether to self-publish or get a publisher to publish your book. Or whether to wait until you have built enough capital to start the business or get investors upfront. Or whether to move to a new city right away, or to wait until you have some form of stability or a new job waiting for you.
I did all three in my own life, and I can tell you too that I struggled with everything I mentioned above with indecisiveness. It took me a couple of years to finally write my first book, took me another long time to finally start a business, and also to decide on moving from New York to Tampa, which was another battle in and of itself.
However, beyond the breakthrough of indecision, I was still able to accomplish everything regardless. So I want to encourage you to just make that decision either way and do it. Life also has a way to course correct itself, even if you took the wrong path.
Don’t get stuck in this battle. Just get something done and course correct as you go through your life’s journey.

Procrastination
This is a big one! I know this quite too well even in my own life. You have the goals, ideas, and dreams already mapped out; however, you haven’t allowed yourself to fully achieve them. You became stuck in a cycle of procrastination. You start to second-guess every decision you have to make about moving forward.
You don’t give yourself the time to just get it done and see where it leads you. If you know very well you’re guilty of this, then I want you to be aware of your own traps to destiny and start working against them.
Get up and get going and get even more organized than before. Give yourself enough time to work on the goals and dreams. Write a timeline if you have to, with steps that need to be taken to get it accomplished. Then practice consistency in getting the steps accomplished as you go.
This strategy will help you to stay focused, stay on track, and get more accomplished.
Time Management
This is so important. It shows us how effective we are at managing our time and getting things accomplished. A failure in this strategy is the reason why many of us can’t get much done.
If we took the time to manage our day more effectively, do you know how much closer to our dreams we could be by now?
Many of us waste it on the things that don’t really get us anywhere. That would be binge-watching Netflix or doomscrolling on social media. Now I’m not saying you can’t have time to enjoy these fun activities. I’m just wondering how much time do you spend on these activities?
Instead of doing it in excess, you could be researching how to start that business, or write that book, or research that city you want to move to.
It’s a simple adjustment of your time to give you more time to pursue the life you really want anyway. Many of you are even secretly admiring the lives you see on television or social media anyway. So why not get your act together and start getting things accomplished?
Time is of the essence, and what’s lost can never be regained. So make sure to use the time wisely in your pursuit of getting to a better life.

Follow Through
Some of us are good starters. We can get things off on the right track right away. The problem is not how well you start, however, but how well you also finish. This is why you will see so many plans get derailed, sidetracked, and vice versa. Whenever you plan to do something. you also have to look at the middle and the ending as well. Not just the beginning.
Knowing those steps in advance will also keep you focused on the finish line ahead. This is why it’s important to have goals you want to achieve, not just today, but in a year from now, or 5 years or 10 years.
It will help you to keep your focus on the finish line rather than anything happening in the middle. It also keeps us grounded as well.
These are FIVE tips that I hope will help you navigate getting to your best life more easily than before. Remember also to give yourself grace if you have struggled with any of these steps. It’s never too late to restart and try again in the right direction.
